THE STORY OF A YOUNG NIGERIAN GIRL
one tragedy that could have been prevented! |
|
1999 - 2009
10 YEARS AGO... |
|

It began with…
- bleeding and lesions on the gums that went unnoticed;
- the appearance of facial oedema followed by an ineffective diagnosis and useless treatment with herbal teas;
- the onset of a gangrenous plaque which did not worry her family until it was too late;
- the irreversible destruction of soft and bone tissues of the mouth and face.
She should have received…
- disinfecting mouthwash and vitamins;
- antibiotics.
She will have to endure….
- scar retractions that will completely deform her face;
- the total contraction of her jaws that will prevent her from opening her mouth to eat.
You can prevent this tragedy from striking other children by supporting the prevention efforts of the Winds of Hope Foundation. Help us !

News desks from New York to Beijing and from London to Singapore raved over this exploit, which made the front headline in the New York Times. More.....
