Raise awareness

By opening the eyes of the mass media to the existence and reality of Noma, Winds of Hope hopes to promote awareness among public powers of the necessity to act urgently, and appeal to public opinion and companies to help finance the fight against this disease.

Its efforts resulted in substantial donations from 2000 to 2006, enabling the Foundation to make a long-term commitment in the fight against Noma and extend its support to an increasing number of countries. Some companies have contributed to the Foundation’s endeavor and have themselves set up awareness and fund collection programs.   

Considering the massive needs of all the countries affected, leverage must be bolstered to increase worldwide mobilization and secure the means to fight this disease globally. To do so, a large-scale informational campaign must be led. Winds of Hope is thus actively organizing a World Noma Day set for 2008, alongside the International No-Noma Federation
