Organization
Following completion of the first round-the-world balloon flight in March 1999, Bertrand Piccard, Brian Jones and the Breitling company founded the Winds of Hope Foundation, in September of the same year, and thanks to their celebrity status themselves brought in a significant proportion of the donations collected.
The impetus given by Noma Day in May 2008 led Winds of Hope to renew its Board, to facilitate further development. The Foundation is now governed by a Board of six members, chaired by Bertrand Piccard with Brian Jones as Vice-President.
Above all, this new momentum allowed Winds of Hope to expand its activities in the field. In support of this development, the Foundation has fortunately been able, since 2009, to call on the services of a two-person management team.
