Max Bishop
Secretary General of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale - the world governing body for sporting aviation - from 1993 to 2010, Max Bishop was responsible for ratifying Bertrand Piccard’s world ballooning records and for defining the rules for solar airplane records. A professionally qualified language teacher, Max is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Linguists and in the 1980s was in command of the Defence School of Languages in England. An experienced interpreter and translator (French and German), he volunteers his skills to support Winds of Hope by translating documents into English and making himself available for interpreting tasks.
