Retention of personal data
The Winds of Hope Foundation collects certain personal data from donors, namely the amount of the gift received, postal address, donors’ comments and email address. Donors are not obliged to provide this information. They are at liberty to make an anonymous donation by bank transfer.
Use of personal data
The Foundation is committed not to publish, use or share with anyone else, personal information about its donors, except in the following cases:
• To send letters of thanks and tax certificates to donors;
• To inform donors of activities or other important information related to the Foundation;
• For its accounting and other in-house analyses;
• To meet legal obligations, in particular vis-à-vis the Swiss supervisory authority for foundations and tax inspectorate.
Anonymized data on donors may be used during fundraising activities. Comments provided by donors may be published anonymously and used in promotional materials. The name of the author of the comment will be indicated only by consent.
In any case, the personal data of donors cannot be used in any manner contrary to the provisions of the Swiss Federal Law on Data Protection.
Information of a financial nature
Access to all information of a financial nature is strictly limited to those in the Foundation’s management who need to process the data, or to persons expressly approved by the Management to carry out these tasks. These data are never shared with any person or organization with no explicit requirement to see them.
Donations made using a credit card are processed by Six Payment Service SA, a company based in Zurich, and by PostFinance (Swiss Post Office).
